928S: AN OLD LEGEND GROWS NEW LIFE
FULL BODY CRESS COVER: A HOMEGROWN GARDEN IN THE MECHANIC WORKSHOP
The perhaps most controversial Porsche silhouette ever released: The Porsche 928. Popularised by movies like “Scarface” with Al Pacino and “Risky Business” with Tom Cruise. Our collective saved an old 928S that has fallen victim to the historic Ahrtal floods in the West of Germany in 2023.
Covered in mud and sealed by rust, this Porsche was close to being thrown on the scrapyard. Together we decided to give this old legend one last ride with many stops - the metaphorical road trip of a lifetime: This specific 928S will serve as the base for an array of Porsche “Art Car” projects that will be documented on the internet.
A symbolic start to the revival of its rusty body is Project 001 - “928S: And Old Legend Grows New Life”. A full body exterior transformation made of organically grown cress. Hand-watered on cotton patches in a local car workshop in Düsseldorf, Germany. The artwork will be exclusively exhibited publicly on the famous Köningsallee in Düsseldorf on Sunday, April the 21st 2024.
